After an regular Centos 7 update, some of the MC functions stopped working:

copy file (F5) shows its dialog, but after confirmation no file is copied
move file (F6) shows its dialog, but after confirmation no file is copied
hitting ENTER or double-clicking on tar.gz file does nothing

The same operations performed manually in shell are working well.

I observe the same behaviour on both rpm-packaged and by-myself-compiled mc installation. I do not know how to trace what does not communicate well between MC and updated Centos libraries or kernel.
