When I open a file in the built-in viewer it always displays as UTF-8, even when another codepage is selected in "Choose codepage" menu. When I open "Choose codepage" menu and select a codepage, the text does change accordingly, but in the next file I view it will again be UTF-8.

The settings in the "Display bits" menu don't seem to affect this behavior.

Gentoo Linux, AMD64, git version, system locale ru_RU.UTF-8
