Incorrect backspace behaviour in mcedit

Description

  1. Please open attached file in mcedit.
  2. Move cursor to the position at right of "→" (to line 1, column 10).
  3. Press "backspace" key.

Expected result: symbol "→" is deleted.
Actual result: symbol "→" is not deleted.

My locale is ru_RU.UTF-8.
