compare directories does not work in git

Description

Compare directories (ctrl-x d) does not work in git version. My computer is running i386 linux (slackware current), mc is configured with --enable-extcharset --enable-netcode --enable-background --enable-charset --with-gpm-mouse --with-ext2undel --with-x --with-vfs --with-samba --with-configdir=/etc/samba --with-codepagedir=/etc/codepages.
