  1. Press Alt+H (or Esc H) to open the history popup.
  1. Press Alt+Esc (or Esc Esc) to dismiss it.
  1. Press Alt+P (or Esc P) to place the previous command in the command line. Maybe press Alt+P / Alt+N a few more times.
  1. Notice that some binary garbage appears in the command line, instead of the desired command.
